What to Bring With You to Ibiza: Essential Items for a Great Time

1. Power Bank for Travel

Your phone will be your navigator, DJ, camera, and lifeline. Between Google Maps, Spotify battles, and late-night “Where are you?” texts, your battery won’t make it past lunch. If you don’t have a trusty one or need a reason to invest, let me just tell you that a slim, fast one is where it’s at for this type of trip, because babes, you need that thing to fit into your palm, small bag and fix you quick.

2. Multi-Use Sarong or Scarf as Clothing

Listen, they’re much better than you think. It’s a beach towel, impromptu skirt, sun shield, nightclub wrap, nap blanket, and maybe even a curtain when your roomie forgets modesty, or has lost the lucidity for it. You can also seem like the smart, put-together friend when those Summer nights become deceivingly cold and, hey, you’ve got something to drape over yourself.

3. Earplugs

Yeah, yeah, you’ve heard it a million times, but you won’t know the difference in quality of life it makes until you try it. Don’t forget that Ibiza, out of all place,s is the one spot besides your college dorm where you need those bad boys just to get a wink of sleep. Invest in your sleep, people.

The Ibiza sun doesn’t negotiate. Whether you’re at the beach, wandering the old town, or day-clubbing at Ushuaïa, you’ll need high SPF, and lots of it. Bonus if it’s sweatproof and non-greasy so you don’t look like a freshly glazed donut. Trust a girl who lives by her D3 deficiency.

5. After-Sun Lotion or Aloe Gel

Even with SPF, something’s getting burned, whether it’s you or your friend. Aloe gel feels like heaven, smells like beach nostalgia, and might just keep you from peeling like a lizard in front of your travel crush. If no one is burned, it still feels great after a post-tan shower. Don’t forget to keep it in the mini fridge in your room for a chilly boost.

6. Statement Swimsuit That Also Functions as a Top

If what has to go down goes down, if your lightly packed bag leaves you a little disappointed in regards to outfit choices, use your trust and fashionable swimsuit top that you picked specifically for this. Preferably one you can wear in your beach-to-bar transition. If it’s got cutouts, metallics, or mesh? Even better. It’s Ibiza—you’re not here to wear beige.

7. Quality Sunglasses for Travel

Ibiza is bright, all types of, at that, sun-bright, sequin-bright, neon-bright. You’ll want a pair of sunglasses that can handle UV rays, pool splashes, and the occasional mid-party fall off your head. Bonus points if they double as a hangover shield for your not-yet, but soon-to-be, embarrassed soul.

8. A Light, Layer-Friendly Jacket That’s Good for Summer Nights

After the sun dips, you’re getting like 2 more hours of warm weather, that’s it. You’ll want something easy to throw over your outfit that doesn’t kill your whole vibe. Think sheer kimono or any breezy cover-up, cropped denim jacket, or an oversized linen shirt you can “accidentally” steal from a friend.

9. A Backup Debit Card or Emergency Cash

Some places in Ibiza still don’t take card, and the ATMs are either empty or charge you enough to fund the DJ’s afterparty. Stash some emergency euros somewhere safe because no one wants to beg a bouncer with Apple Pay that won’t load. I DO NOT CONDONE BRIBERY! I only help travelers in need.
